Getting Delay, Without Using Any Effects

There's a lot of different ways you can do this depending on your circumstances. Are you playing outside on a stage with a sound system/sound engineer or just outside in some environment? Are you thinking of doing this yourself or hiring a recording engineer? Are you playing amplified or completely acoustic? Are you incorporating video as well or does the audio just need to sound like you're playing outdoors?
