Super Typhoon Nuri From International Space Station




If there’s one thing you don’t want to see on the radar heading your way, it’s the image above, in this case Super Typhoon Nuri, currently touring off the Japanese coast. Tropical storms are threatening, and we know what kind of havoc a hurricane can wreak, but the phrase “super typhoon” is a particularly chilling one even though it’s the equivalent of a category 5 hurricane. With winds of 165 mph as its weakening, Nuri could take the prize for the strongest storm of the year, and we’re incredibly thankful that reports say Japan isn’t expecting major impacts.
