Nothing like a bird’s-eye view to make you feel small, but when those shots are stitched together to create timelapses, you get the strange sensation that, yes, we are being watched.
UK photographer Jamie Brightmore dubbed this technique Satlapse, seeing as not only does the footage appear to be taken by satellite, but satellite communication is also what keeps his cameras as steady as possible on the drones to which they’re attached.
Drones hover 400 feet in the air, taking individual shots, which are then put through a considerable amount of post-production work to create these short timelapse segments.
The end result, though, is well worth the effort.
