One unfortunate aspect of humanity is our tendency to trash nature, but you can put that downside to good use if you need cordage in a pinch while out in the wild.
If you can find a 2-liter bottle (and you likely can if you happen to be near a waterway), all you need is a knife, a saw, and a tree stump to strip that bottle into super strong cord.
