What to Expect When You’re Expecting never broaches the chaos that ensues once you have a child in tow. Actually, I wouldn’t know that first-hand because I tossed it after the first chapter and stuck to The Girlfriend’s Guide to Pregnancy, which at least offered a few laughs to go along with the swollen ankles and ill-fitting pants of pregnancy.
Sure, you may have watched as friends with kids disappeared from your life for years at a time and wondered what the heck you did wrong, but it isn’t until the little devils…uh, um, angels…descend into your own life that you realize what the fuss — the constant, unending, exhausting fuss — was all about.
