Douglas Adams organized his famous Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy series around a single question: What is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything? It’s a question that we all have in common, the question that pops into our heads when we lay down and sleep fails to come. Unfortunately, there isn’t much meaning offered anymore––even if you’re religious, it can be hard to find meaning. That’s why this video argues that meaning is a jumper (a sweater) that you need to knit yourself. In other words, if you want to find purpose in life, you need to create your own meaning.
