On American Idol, Jonny Brenns delivered a strong performance of “Georgia” by Vance Joy for his Top 24 solo act in front of a live audience. Jonny noted that he sang the song for his grandma.
Lionel Richie said it went from the shy guy to the sexy. Lionel noted that he is blooming and that Jonny reminded him so much of him at the beginning of his career. Lionel said Jonny just has to get comfortable. Lionel noted that he is coming alive. Katy Perry noted that she has believed in him from day one. Katy said his song choice was dead on.
Luke Bryan said Jonny is a big star but that he does not quite know it yet. Luke said once you realized that touching a young lady’s hand makes the other girls go wild, you don’t need to sing. Luke said Jonny has such a smooth voice that no one expects. Luke said just understand you have all the tools.
