Emily Blunt Confesses That She Finds 'Mary Poppins' A Little Creepy

Emily Blunt hit Stephen Colbert‘s couch on The Late Show on Thursday (March 29) and discussed the enjoyment of playing Mary Poppins in the upcoming sequel, and the strange feeling she gets when thinking about the character. “Well, I think she’s creepy. Disney right now are just like ‘noooooo!’,” the 35-year-old actress told Stephen. “But I loved doing it, it was just the best. It really was awesome.” Emily also told Stephen that the second biggest perk of working on her new film A Quiet Place was watching her husband John Krasinski flex his creative muscles as director. “When he pitched me the one-liner of it — because he had been offered it as an actor — I was like, ‘Oh, well that’s an amazing idea. You should direct that movie,’” Emily recounted. “Then he wrote it and I previously suggested a friend of mine for the film. And then I read his script and I was like, ‘You need to fire her — now. You need to call her and fire her!’”
