
There have been ninety years of best picture winners at the Academy Awards. You probably remember a few of those films, but it is a darn long shot that you know the first one. It was called “Wings” and it was a silent film. It was a massive production; the shoot lasted three to four times longer than the average shoot of those days. There were hundreds of pilots and extras involved, and technological advancements from this film revolutionized the industry.
