Tove Styrke has caught the attention of some of the biggest names in music, including Katy Perry, who she toured with in May, and now she’s ready to catch your attention with her upcoming third record.
The Swedish singer rose to fame with the 2015 album Kiddo, which featured tracks like, “Even If I’m Loud It Doesn’t Mean I’m Talking to You,” and “Borderline,” which was an EP (as well as a song) released the year prior, and come May, fans will be able to hear a full-album full of songs designed to take them back through the stages of “new love.”
“The whole album is very cohesive. So, it’s like a journey. A whole story. It’s mainly feel-good, like the vibes,” Styrke told Entertainment Weekly when talking about her album Sway.
The album might feel like a journey, but every song will have its own place within the record, and make you remember that it is one of Styrke’s tracks.
“Even if it’s simple and minimal, [the production] still needs to be interesting,” she continued. “I want each song to have its own ID so if you hear it once, you’ll recognize it again — like the ukulele riff on ‘Say My Name.’ It’s kind of out of place, but… A-ha! It’s that song!”
