Padma Lakshmi Opens Up About 'Top Chef' Contestant's Rare Cancer Diagnosis

Padma Lakshmi is opening up about a Top Chef contestant’s diagnosis. The 47-year-old author, actress and Top Chef host appeared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen on Wednesday night (February 14) in New York City. During her appearance, Padma told Andy Cohen about Season 15 contestant Fatima Ali, who went into surgery to remove a cancerous tumor after being diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, a very rare type of cancerous tumor that grows in your bones or soft tissue. “She’s doing a lot better,” Padma said. “She’s doing great. She’s doing really well. She did the whole season, and then she got diagnosed in the early fall.”
