On the surface, Melania Trump might not appear to have that much in common with The Little Mermaid’s Ariel. One’s a brunette; the other’s a redhead. One’s an adult woman; the other is a teenager. Oh, and yeah—one is a human First Lady of the United States, while the other is a fictional mermaid princess. Still, the way James Corden sees it, these two women have at least one thing in common: repression.
On Thursday night, The Late Late Show re-imagined one of the film’s most memorable songs—”Part of Your World”—with a Washington spin. In this version, Melania isn’t milling around her secret treasure room playing with dinglehoppers and snarfblatts; instead she’s up to her ears in MAGA hats and hairpieces. And her mobility is hindered not by a lack of legs, but by the Secret Service.
