I really feel bad for these kids. Lavar is a dad who obviously cares about his kids' future and wants what's best for them but it's clear he doesn't give them the freedom to make their own decisions especially with major issues in their lives like choosing where they want to play. It's painfully obvious in this as well as many other interviews. A good example is when Charlamagne asked Liangelo why he didn't choose to play at a different school or if the decision was an emotional one or a planned out one, and Liangelo didn't know how to respond because his dad makes these decisions for the boys. Lamelo looks like he doesn't even want to be there and tbh I don't blame him. Coming from a strict household, I know what it's like to be a part of this and eventually they're going to have to work to be more independent and make their own decisions as mature people. Having your parents decide everything for you really puts you down as a human being and you develop this neutral and confident lacking mentality about everything instead of learning how to make your own decisions. It's already apparent with Lonzo in the NBA being pushed around by Patrick Beverly and not wanting to get involved in scuffles. There's a monster inside of him that needs to be unleashed but its been hiding because he never learned to be himself. It's the same with the others, they need to be more confident and figure out what they want in life but I understand that this is incredibly hard to do when having someone as emotionally driven, attention seeking, and many times irrational as Lavar Ball.
