Weeks after Saudi Arabia lifted its ban on driving for women, Coca cola praised the move with a heartfelt advertisement campaign. In a 1-minute clip featuring a Saudi father and his daughter, the former hands over the car keys to his daughter, and silently shifts to the passenger seat. Clad in a hijab and hiding her fears with a nervous grin, his daughter doesn’t seem to be too confident about her first ride.
Shy behind the wheel, she starts the vehicle, but stops mid way, and takes many rounds before she finally succeeds! Titled ‘Change Has Taste’, the video has an interesting take on the first driving lesson and has garnered over 1,40,000 views so far. The clip has received mixed reactions with some people appreciating it and others complaining that the company is trying to exploit women’s rights for commercial gain.
