Party Balloons Lift Adventurer Over South Africa

If you’ve watched the Hollywood blockbuster ‘Up’, you may have wondered if it was possible to fly on a balloon. Well, one person has done it for real with just a few slight changes — and we are not even kidding. Using scores of colourful balloons, Tom Morgan from Bristol-based company The Adventurists, flew into the South African skies. The daredevil stuntman flew 25km (15.5 miles) and reached as high as 8,000ft (2,438m) suspended from 100 helium balloons, sitting on a camping chair. After a series of trial runs in Botswana with many setbacks from strong winds, he finally took a lift-off above Johannesburg.
