
The sight of New York City from the air can still take your breath away, even if it’s far more common than it was way back in 1929.
This film of the Graf Zeppelin making a grand entrance to the U.S. during its world tour, though, is a slice of history that makes you long for the days when whole cities could come out and celebrate…and journalists went to some extraordinary lengths to capture footage of the event.
It was the first zeppelin to circumnavigate the globe and only the second airship of any kind to do so.
