Secret Walls Offer Surprise Customer Service In Japan

In the days when everything is automated and it’s almost impossible to find a real person to assist you in a jam, this video out of Japan is a breath of fresh air for consumers everywhere. Though taken a few years ago, Michelle Lynn Dinh of Rocket News 24 notes that it’s just one more example of Japan’s excellent customer service culture. The story behind these people behind secret walls is that, since the subways are so busy, someone has to be back there to restock constantly, so they might as well lend a personal touch while they’re at it. It’s a great gesture so long as you don’t scream when someone pops out of the wall.
