Monster's Latest Ad Puts A Giant Purple Twist On 'King Kong'

A new spot from recruitment firm Monster.com puts a spin on "King Kong" in a scenario where a giant purple monster scoops a woman up from her office and deposits her in a better one. The ad, by KBS, begins with the employee trying to talk to her male boss, who's simulatenously obnoxiously ignoring her while laughing on the phone and clicking his figures at her. Just then, the giant monster bursts in and grabs her. Scooping her up in his fist a la Fay Wray, he stomps through the streets of New York City, terrifying tourists and destroying buildings. At one point he peeks through the window of another office, sees a boss shouting at his team, and growls at them threateningly. After getting caught in a fire escape and traversing railway lines, he climbs a skyscraper to smash into another firm, and puts her down. There, she delights at her new colleagues, smart new desk and light-filled office.
