Body art has seen an explosion of popularity in recent years, yet in some parts of the world, it has long been the norm.
Laolu Senbanjo performed Yoruba ritual body art on Ghanaian musician Azizaa as part of a release party for the film Ori Inu: In Search of Self.
The film follow on an immigrant woman’s attempts to reconcile American expectations with her traditional religious roots and the clash of perceptions between traditions from the two cultures, and you can see the trailer here.
