If “The Jetsons” theme suddenly springs to mind when you see Lilium’s creation take off, it’s understandable. This all-electric jet looks as if it escaped from a sci-fi movie.
The company’s goal is to create an on-demand air taxi service with these jets, which can fly from Paris to London in an hour at speeds equal to a Formula One race car. For once, it isn’t all about satisfying the luxury market.
The Lilium Jet successfully completed its maiden test flight series in the skies above Bavaria. The 2-seater Eagle prototype executed a range of complex maneuvers, including its signature mid-air transition from hover mode to wing-borne forward flight.
