Here’s a video that’ll send chills down the spine of all you Cape Cod lovers out there.
This incredible video of a shark leaping out of the water after a seal was captured by researcher Greg Skomal during his biweekly shark rounds.
After being frustrated at most of the seals being too close to shore to grab dinner and run, this seal was almost on the shark when it suddenly lunged, causing the seal to jump out of the water (understandable) with the predator in hot pursuit.
As the president of the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, Cynthia Wigren explained:
“The escape was incredible to witness. We’ve seen three predations over the last two years and this was a first — to watch a white shark leap from the water in an attempt to grab a gray seal. The seal won that battle but shortly after the same shark successfully consumed a different seal further offshore.”
