Benetton Marks Indian Independence Day With Uplifting Shared Faith

As India marks both its Independence Day and the 70th anniversary of its partition with Pakistan, Benetton has made an ad to mark the date, showing how religion doesn't always tear people apart but can sometimes bring them together. The film focuses on the story of Nooral Hasan, an elderly man living in Lucknow, India who gave up part of his house to help rebuild an abandoned Hindu temple. It's only at the end of the film that we learn he's a devout Muslim. It's based on a true story, and concludes with the hashtag #UnitedbyFaith. The ad was created in collaboration with storytelling platform Terrible Tiny Tales.
