Orcas Caught On Camera Hunting Down & Killing A Minke Whale

If you’ve ever doubted the aptness of calling orcas killer whales, you have to see this drone footage captured off the coast of Russia. This pod of orcas chase down a minke whale until it becomes exhausted and drowns. Then, they feast in rather gruesome fashion. Orcas are the only universal predators among cetaceans, able to subsist on both fish and other mammals, including other dolphins and whales. In general, resident orcas—those that live in the same place year-round—eat fish and squid, while transient orcas, the scarcer type, take down bigger prey.
