How To Cut A Cake & Keep It Fresh

It’s funny how it took a mathematician to figure out the proper way to cut a cake to keep it fresh, and, like most lessons math teaches us, it took us 100+ years to appreciate it. “The ordinary method of cutting out a wedge is very faulty,” wrote Sir Francis Galton, a British mathematician, in a 1906 letter to the journal Nature concerning the scientific principles of cake-cutting. No one wants to let perfectly good cake go to waste, so check out this video from Numberphile, which shows you exactly how to cut cake the right way.
