
It isn’t often Swedish swimmers get themselves in hot water, but skinny-dipping men in the Oresund Sound have a lot more to worry about than shrinkage.
A fisherman recently caught an Amazonian relative of the piranha called a pacu in the waters, and their favorite delicacy appears to be man’s most delicate part.
The freshwater fish, which can grow up to 90 centimetres and weigh up to 25 kilogrammes, has been nicknamed the “ball cutter” for its attacks on the male genitalia.
In areas where pacus proliferate, fishermen have reportedly bled to death after losing their testicles to the fish’s crushing jaws.
The species has also been found in Papua New Guinea and parts of the U.S., but this is the first time the fish has been found in European waters.
Not even the Swedish chef is a match for this aggressive edible:
