Call it a Cold War holdover-induced unease, but we’re certainly happy to see this impressive display of helicopter flying highlighted with fireworks rather than firepower (though there’s a taste of that, too).
Speaking of the Cold War, though, the Soviet Union never would have let the onlookers shown on camera look this unenthused. We’re pretty sure one guy was taking a shot.
The big show is coming up in August, and joining Russia will be Armenia, India, Pakistan, Egypt, China, Belarus and Kazakhstan, with Brazil and Bahrain participating only as formal observers.
