Earth Has A Mini Moon!

Since there have been human eyes to observe the night sky, there’s been a moon to keep us company. In the last century, though, we’ve gained another planetary companion. Scientists estimate asteroid 2016 HO3 has been hanging around Earth for the last 100 years or so, ranging between 100 times the distance to our main Moon and thirty-eight times the distance. It isn’t unusual for Earth to trap asteroids in its gravitational field, but this one is predicted to hang around for a long, long time to come.
