Massive Landslide Shuts Down California’s Iconic Highway 1at Big Sur

If you’d put off driving the length of California’s Highway 1, you’ll have to wait until the million tons of rock is removed from the stretch near Big Sur. Fortunately, the area had already been closed to traffic due to smaller landslides, so no one was caught in the massive incident. As the SF Gate reported: “It would be like coming home and your house is torn up,” said Caltrans spokeswoman Susana Cruz. “Where do even you start? This is huge.”
