Transportation geeks around the world will want to start making arrangements to attend the 2020 World’s Fair in Dubai, where Uber plans to unveil their leap into the future of transportation: flying rides on demand.
As Business Insider reported:
“Just as skyscrapers allowed cities to use limited land more efficiently, urban air transportation will use three-dimensional airspace to alleviate transportation congestion on the ground,” Uber wrote in its white-paper on Uber Elevate, which it unveiled in October 2016.
The company is working with Dubai, Dallas-Fort Worth, and several real estate holding companies to examine the demand, feasibility, and infrastructure needs of such of system. Currently, they’re working with several companies on potential designs, including the one below from Aurora Flight Sciences.
