American Women in War: Their Evolving Role

The role of women in the military has undergone a dramatic change in recent decades, as they moved from supportive roles to the front lines.Though several hundred women fought in the Civil War under the guise of being men, today the U.S. military boasts over 70,000 active-duty female personnel.
