Meet Microdave – who standing at just 18 inches tall could be Britain’s smallest horse. At 12 days old, the American miniature stallion stands a full two inches shorter than Einstein who is recognised as the world’s smallest horse. The pocket-sized stallion was born measuring a miniscule 12 inches high, which is just half the size of an average American miniature foal and the same height as a 2 litre bottle of coke. Using his adorable size, Microdave runs rings around his mum – Haysden Samber Tiddly – and owner Jen Baldwin-Murphy. Jen, who owns Haysden Liveries near Tonbridge, Kent, said: ‘I still can’t believe how small he is. ‘He’s been so popular with our visitors – it’s been almost non-stop. ‘I have to check people haven’t put him in their pocket.’ Jen, who has been training and showing dressage horses for almost 25 years, has only kept miniatures for 2 years. As soon as Microdave was born, on seeing his beautiful blue eyes, Jen knew she couldn’t follow her original plan to sell him.
