Open drain pipes are particularly dangerous when there are baby elephants running around because, once in, they’re tough to get out.
Fortunately, locals in Sri Lanka heard the wee one’s cries and, with the help of wildlife officials, pulled the baby to safety with only a broken leg, as far as we know.
