Male lions are generally easy to spot due to their distinctive manes, but this mysterious lady of Botswana is defying all stereotypes and providing her pride with extra protection at the same time.
Though treated as a lionness in her own group, scientists believe her more male-like roar and fabulous mane intimidate outsiders. Only five of these maned lionesses are thought to exist in this isolated area of Botswana.
Guess you could say they’re bringing pride to the pride.
