Clifftop apartments lose their luster (and foundation) thanks to El Niño [video]

The breathtaking view was no doubt one of the reasons Monica Montoya chose her clifftop Pacifica apartment, but it’s another aspect of the location that’s undermining all her well-laid plans: the crumbling of the ground beneath it. Thanks to El Niño, twenty of these apartments in California have been condemned with other residents being evacuated. Oddly enough, several stood out on their balconies to watch the ground frighteningly close to under their feet fall into the ocean. There goes the resale value…
