If you work from time to time with a circular saw, you know the anxiety that always resonates. Finally a moment of inattention is sufficient to seriously injure themselves or even to lose a finger. The US company SawStop however, the ultimate way to prevent that. It has namely developed saws that detect when approaching human tissue, and stopping within a few milliseconds.
In the blade, a sensor is installed, which records the electrical conductivity of the human body. Approaching a finger or other body part, then the safety system is activated and the blade snaps in the table. The whole procedure takes no more than five milliseconds and ensures that the user wears them more than a scratch. In the TV show "TimeWarp" the technology was first demonstrated with a sausage until then the SawStop inventor Steve Gass personally moved his finger toward the saw.
