Up in the seas around northern Norway, humpback whales were having a feast of their own in November, and filmmaker Patrick Dykstra was there to capture the awe-inspiring event by drone.
This wasn’t just a handful of creatures, either; Dykstra caught 100 whales corralling schools of herring before lunge feeding upon their find.
And when each guest weighs thirty tons, you need to serve up a lot of fish to satisfy every appetite. Though Dykstra has taken a number of swims in the company of his mammallian cousins, it’s understandable he’d stay a safe distance away in this situation.
