Forging A Knife From A Wrench With Hydraulic Press

You need the right type of metal, "normal steel" is mild carbon and not hardenable. The wrench is probably medium-carbon, other metals are better but can be tricky to work. Its the quench process that makes it all work, squashing it in the press was just to get the shape he wanted.
