“The freestyle should be your brand or your mark,” said “Dancing with the Stars” pro dancer Mark Ballas about the routine he wanted to choreograph for his celebrity partner Lindsey Stirling during the “DWTS” finals. Stirling, a violinist, described the concept for the dance: “We are conductors, and then we get swept away by the music.” And that was “meant to reflect [Stirling] to a T,” according to Ballas. “This is your moment … The whole thing represents how you embody music and how you command it and own it.” Ballas even included a bold moment where Stirling played her violin while dancing in hold.
